It was officially announced yesterday (7th.March 2012) that the Hip-hop star Lady Gaga became the first person on twitter to hit a record of 20 million Twitter followers. Closely following Lady Gaga in terms of number of Twitter follower ship are music stars like Justin Bieber with more than 18 million, Katy Perry with about 15 million twitter followers, hip-shaking Shakira close to 14.6 million followers and Rihanna who has more than 14.5 million twitter followers.
