Clifford Orji: The Cannibal Dies in Kirikiri Perions Lagos

News just reaching us at CitiGist has it that Clifford Orji is dead.

You remember him, though most Nigerians have forgotten about his case? Orji was arrested in February 1999, by the police, under the bridge around Toyota Bus Stop on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.

 It was alleged by the Nigeria police then, that Oriji was killing and eating humans under the bridge.

 Clifford Orji was later charged before the Ebute-Meta Magistrate’s Court in Lagos but he was never tried.

According to Mr.Biyi Jeje, the acting public relation officer of the Nigerian prisons Lagos, Clifford Orji was found dead Friday morning August 17, 2012 after 13years of been in prison custody without trial.
However the causes of Oriji’s death is yet to be determined but the prison authorities said an autopsy will be performed on him soon.
