According to reports, one of the oldest colonial drainages in the country in Onitsha has collapsed. It was revealed that the bridge, which is located on Old Market Road, Onitsha, Anambra, was built by the colonial masters in early 1927.
The drainage reportedly started caving in recently due to lack of maintenance and heavy traffic.
It collapsed 2 days ago. An eyewitness who simply gave her name as Chinwe, said she heard a loud sound, when the drainage collapsed, adding that a Toyota Siena car parked along the road was affected, following the shock waves created by the collapse of the drainage.- Daily Sun Newspaper
