According to report, Miss Joy Ngufan Iorzaa, the deceased killed herself in a forest while kneeling, a position which has raised suspicion in the mind of many.
People are of the opinion that she was murdered by unknown persons before her lifeless body was hung on a tree.
Usar community in Kwande local government area of Benue State was thrown into confusion when a bride-to-be allegedly committed suicide.
Joy was betrothed to one Aondover Auva Shande of the same local government, and were scheduled to get married before this unfortunate incident.
The family of the deceased and some members of the community angered by her death therefore demanded an immediate explanation from her fiancé, Shande.
However, after the corpse had been discovered and examined, it was gathered from medical test that both Iorzaa and Shande were positive to HIV/AIDS.
It was concluded that she must have committed suicide after she found out she was HIV/AIDS positive
The police public relations officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Daniel Ezeala, who confirmed the incident yesterday, said that “no arrest has been made but the matter is with the command and investigation into the case is on-going”.
