Shock As Abdullahi Rates Nigerian Football Only 4 Out Of 10

Despite the fact of Nigeria having won AFCON 2013 and the U17 World Cup, Sports Minister Bolaji Abdullahi has rated Nigeria only 4 out of 10 this year.
It is worth noting that the Super Eagles also qualified for a fifth World Cup in the outgoing year, and the country’s team of domestic league players qualified for the first time to the Championship of African Nations (CHAN).
Bolaji-AbdullahiHowever, Abdullahi has maintained that although the country has done well in football in the outgoing year, a lot of things are left to be done for the country to reach the desired height in sport.

“For me, I thank God Almighty that we try to do our best and God is helping us achieve results. But for me, we need to do a lot more than we are doing,” he stated.

“And I’m the first one to tell you that in a scale of one to 10, 10 being where we should be, where are we today? I would say 4."

“Yes! We won the AFCON, the U17 World Cup, yes, very good, but until we are able to build a system that ensures that regardless of who is in the office, we can confidently say we will win or we can win, then we have not reached where we are supposed to be.”
