‘Stop Distracting President Jonathan’

A coalition of youths under the aegis of The Ambassadors has said that it was too early for politicians to start campaigning ahead of 2015 elections, warning that heating up the polity by different strategies would only distract President Goodluck Jonathan.
In a statement after its quarterly briefing, the National Coordinator of the group, Mr. Opeyemi Ahmed, said the President needed support and not distraction in his efforts to deliver more dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
The Ambassadors also commended the President over the ongoing process towards convening a na-tional conference that the group said would ensure the sustenance of peace and unity in the country.
Presents at the briefing were Mr. Taofeek Gani, Lagos State Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP; Alhaji R. A. Yusuf, Chair-man, Elder Council of the group; Mr. Akinolu Israel, Deputy National Coordi-nator; Mr. Idris Adpitan, National Secretary;  Mr. Taiwo Salami, Publicity Secretary; Miss Adewale Olaore, Director of Operation, Miss Ola Esther, among others.
