Photo: Top American General, Rodriguez, Arrives Nigeria For Boko Haram

After all the initial drama, foreign military experts including a top United States General, David Rodriguez, have arrived in Nigeria to assist the federal government in the rescue of the abducted Chibok female students.
 Rodriguez became the third commander of US Africa Command (USAFRICOM) in Stuttgart, Germany, on April 5, 2013. The US Africa Command is one of six unified geographic combatant commands within the Department of Defence unified command structure. 
A native of West Chester, Pennsylvania, Rodriguez earned his commission from the US Military Academy at West Point, New York in 1976.
A military source who sought anonymity disclosed this to LEADERSHIP in Abuja on Monday.

Rodriguez has commanded at every level while his previous assignment was Commanding General of the US Army Forces Command. The renowned general’s additional commands include the International Security Assistance Force – Joint Command (IJC) in Afghanistan; the 82nd Airborne Division; 2nd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division; and 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). 

He also commanded companies in 75th Ranger Regiment and 1st Armoured Division.
