The illegal siege is over. It was a triumphant entry for the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, into his palace as a mammoth crowd accompanied him and his entourage. He arrived the palace on Friday afternoon from the Kano State government house where he had stayed for days following an illegal lock down.

  The respected Emir of Kano, Sanusi, who is now one of the most powerful Islamic leaders in Northern Nigeria, entered into his palace to begin his ascension to the throne. Congrats to him! More photos below..
