Cross River State Deputy Governor’s Father, Uncle Kidnapped by Gunmen



The Cross River state DeputyGovernor, Efiok Cobham will not be happy at the moment. This is becuase, gunmen on Friday October 11 around 2am, kidnapped his father, Chief Essien Cobham, from his home in Creek Town, Odukpani Local Government Area. The deputy governor’s father was abducted alongside his uncle whose name could not be identified.  They broke the wall of the deputy governor’s father’s house to gain access to the building.
Sources say the kidnapers had initially burst into the residence of the brother of the Director-General of the Directorate of Security Service, Mr. Ita Ekpenyong, but vandalised the building as the brother was not at home.
The kidnappers were said to have entered and left the town through the Calabar waterways on speedboats. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Hogan Bassey, confirmed the incident.
