Awka - The governorship candidate of the Progressive People’s Alliance (PPA) in Anambra, Mr Godwin Ezeemo, says he has the strong will to provide the state with good leadership.
Ezeemo said in Awka on Wednesday during a dinner for media executives that the state needed a strong leader to effectively develop it. “I am here to give service to my people. I am not here for pecuniary interests.
I have the strong will to lead the state to the Promised Land,’’ In his 12-point manifesto, the candidate said that his priority if elected as the governor of the state was to ensure adequate security and power supply.
“Most industries operating in the state are not breaking even due to inadequate power supply,’’ he said. Ezeemo said the creation of jobs was the surest way of providing security for the people.
He said he would address the problem by laying emphasis on vocational and technical education, skills acquisition and revival of moribund industries and establishment of new ones.He condemned some politicians who purchased motor bikes for young people in the name of empowerment, adding that such an act would discourage them from improving themselves.
Also included in Ezeemo’s manifesto are the provision of qualitative and free education up to post-primary level and adequate funding of the tertiary institutions in the state.
The governorship candidate, however, appealed to the people of the state to come out en masse and vote for him on Nov. 16.
