THE Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Aminu
Tambuwal yesterday paid a condolence visit to GovernorMimiko following
the ill-fated plane crash which led to the death of 13 mourners of the
former Governor, Olusegun Agagu of the state.
Tambuwal, who was accompanied by Senator George Akume, Hon. Yemi
Arokodare and Hon Kashim Imam, described the death of Mr Deji Falae, the
State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism as a national tragedy.
He
said the House received the news of the incident with a great shock as
they were about to commence the proceedings of the day.
According
to Tambuwal, the late Falae sent a text message to him on September 29,
at about 10.25 am on how to move Nigeria forward, saying that words
alone can not express what happened on that fateful day.
The
message read, ‘’My brother I trust you and your family are well. I
implore you to use your best endeavours to solve the current crisis
rocking your party and Nigeria as a whole. History will not be kind to
our generation if we don’t make the success of the Nigerian project. May
the almighty God guide you, Deji Falae.”
Responding, Governor
Olusegun Mimiko, who described the visit as a precious and wonderful one
said it was an understatement to say the incident was a major shock.
Mimiko then thanked the entire leadership and members of the House for their concern for the plight of the people of Ondo State.-Vanguard
