In Spite Of Oyinlola's Reinstatement, Current PDP National Secretary Is Not Ready To Leave

Reacting on the decision of the Appeal Court to reinstate lagunsoye Oyinlola as the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the party`s current National Secretary, Wale Oladipo, said he was not leaving yet.
Commenting the Courts's decision, Oladipo, stressed he would only quit the office on the orders of the Supreme Court. He also disclosed that the appellants from Ogun State , who took Oyinlola to court in the first place, were already heading to the Supreme Court.
"As to my position, nothing has changed. I remain the National Secretary of the party. Supreme Court will have the final say. No cause for alarm," he stated.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, the PDP National Legal Adviser, Victor Kwom, said he was still studying the judgment, and, he added, the party would react at the appropriate time.
To recall, an Abuja Federal High Court presided by Justice Abdul Kafarati on January 11, 2013 nullified Oyinlola`s election as PDP National Secretary. The suit had been filed by the Chairman of Ogun State chapter of the party, Adebayo Dayo.
In his suit, Dayo argued that Oyinlola emerged as the PDP national secretary through a "kangaroo process," and maintained that since the Federal High Court in Lagos nullified the South-west Zonal congress which produced Oyinlola, his continued stay in office was illegal, null and void.
Oyinlola is currently the National Secretary of the Abubakar Baraje-led faction of the party, kown as 'new PDP.'
