NFF About Eagles: "Our Defence Is Not Too Good" - NFF

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) first vice-chairman Mike Umeh, on Tuesday said the Super Eagles’ defence needed to be fortified ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
His remark was made after Nigeria-Italy game, which was held in London on Monday and ended with the score 2-2.
Umeh believes that Nigeria must improve its defence line. In his opinion, it will enable the team to perform well at the FIFA World Cup scheduled for Brazil between June 12 and July 13, 2014.
"We still need to inject more players into the team, because our defence is not too good. It needs to be worked on," the former Eagles’ team manager said.
Still the NFA VC praised the team for its outstanding performance in the match against Italy noting that the team’s preparation for the 2014 World Cup was on course.

The official said he couldn't remember the Super Eagles losing any match recently, except the one at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil, noting that the "worst" result they got is the draw.
Umeh added,
"No board has achieved what we have achieved within our tenure in office."
He said that the great success had been achieved by them without billions of Naira spent.
He also expressed pride over victories of female teams, which are doing very well at the junior and senior levels.
