Abuja - A 35-year-old woman was arrested and appeared before a Senior Magistrate's Court in Wuse 2, Abuja. She is facing charges for allegedly abducting a policeman.
Vitoria Kalio, of Alibaba Crescent, Jabi, FCT, is accused of insulting a
policeman, criminal force, assault and mischief.
According to the prosecution, the accused drove a Nissan Murano Jeep. She
was stopped by Sgt. Isukwa Lornonge, who was on night duty. Sgt. Lorninge
entered the car, and then Kalio took off with the police officer still inside
the car to an unknown destination.
ASP. Joseph Adikwu and his team, while on night patrol around Wuse 2,
received a distress call that a woman abducted Lornonge from his duty post.
The accused, however, denied all the allegations and pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Aminu Eri, granted the accused bail for N10,000 with a
surety and ordered that the surety must be resident within the court's
jurisdiction.
