The President of the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities
(ASUU), Dr. Nasir Fagge, told Saharareporters about the decision to suspend
5-month industrial action.
The ASUU leader also
held a press conference in Minna, after the marathon National Executive Council
meeting was over at about 12.50 a.m. on December 17, 2013, Tuesday.
The decision should
take effect starting from today.
It would be noted
that the decision to end the protracted industrial action was taken after ASUU
signed a new agreement with the Federal Government on December 11, 2013.
