el-Rufai, 104 Passengers Survived Deadly Plane Accident

On Sunday, a Boeing 737 aircraft belonging to Aero Contractors, carrying 104 passengers, lost pressure in one of its tyres at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos.
No life was lost, as the plane landed safely.
The aircraft departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, NAA, Abuja, around 9am.
Former Minister, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, was one of the passengers aboard. He posted the following account of the events on his Twitter and Facebook accounts:
"Upon landing in Lagos, our Aero aircraft lost a tyre. The pilot did a great job of breaking to a halt. My phones flew under seats.
"It was amusing hearing shouts of Allah Akbar and Jesus…while the dutiful captain was trying to slow down the plane to a safe location.
"One of the passengers joked that he knew nothing would happen to us as I was onboard, nice of him, but Allah Decides our fate in His way.
"The Aero pilot was good, the cabin staff calm and professional in the midst of mild drama and little panic by a few passengers. We thank God," the lawmaker added.
Mr. Yakubu Dati, Coordinating Spokesman, Aviation Parastatals, confirmed the incident and said the damaged aircraft has since been towed to the apron.
"We wish to assure all air travellers of their safety and caution against magnifying a manageable incident out of proportion," Mr. Dati added.
The Accident Investigation Prevention Bureau have commenced investigation into the incident.
