Writing on the club’s website under the headline,
Nigerian talent set for City move over United!, Paul Bienkowski said:
“Thinking on the positives though, United have plenty
of talented players in their academy, so it could be a reason as to why the
club did not push for the player.”
The writer raises doubts as to whether Manchester
United actually wanted the player, as he writes further:
“For all we knew, City might have been the only club
to make a concrete offer for the player. I am sure, over time, the truth will
come out on the deal.”
Iheanacho is currently ineligible
for a work permit, so City, who have a sister club
in Ghana, will loan the 17-year-old until he has earned enough
international caps to qualify for a work permit.
