Cgt: Photos: Oba Adesida and the Irony of Death; In Memory of the Deji of Akure

In August 2013, the Deji of Akure, Oba Adebiyi Adegboyega Adesida, his family and well-wishers paraded the streets of Akure to dispel death rumors.

The city was agog with the Deji carried shoulder high by palace guards in a show of happiness that he was hale and hearty.

Ironically, the death was lurking in the corner, as the traditional ruler of Akure kingdom passed away at his palace on December 1, 2013, just a week after he had a high profile wedding for his son in Nigeria.
