Nigeria Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has revealed that players Joseph Yobo and Osaze Odemwingie were still members of the team.
He disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja, adding that the players would
return when they are needed. “Yobo is part of us; he is still our captain.
I speak with him all the time
and if he thinks he is ready we will bring him back.
“But it is not about whom you are, it is about what you can give Nigerians.
“I don’t do this sentiment stuff. We see European players that are
39-year-old and they still play for their national teams and they are quality
players.
“If a player is going to give me and the team what we want no matter the age
I will play that person,’’ he said.
He also added that the team would prefer to camp in the city of Miami or Houston
in the U.S. to prepare for the 2014 World Cup due to the similar weather
condition both cities share with Brazil, the 2014 World Cup host.
