The
Police in Ogun State on Thursday arraigned one Oduwole Taiwo before an
Ota Senior Magistrate’s Court, for allegedly stealing a white ram valued
at N120,000 belonging to one Dare Dada.
Taiwo, 23, who lives at 34, Oremeta Jacross Road, Iyana Iyesi, Ota, is standing trial on one count of stealing.
The Prosecutor, Rosemary Brown, told the court that the accused committed the offence on December 24, 2013 at Ota.
Brown said the accused stole a white ram worth N120, 000 and used the money to obtain 20 raps of cocaine.
She said the action of the accused contravenes section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Revised Law of Ogun State, 2006.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mr Aliu Soneye, said the accused should be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case till February 19 for mention.
