FIFA has announced its ranking for the month of February with some surprises at the African level.
Nigeria, who were 7th in Africa and 41st in the world, has dropped 6 positions to be 8th in Africa and 47th in the world.
The Black Stars of Ghana ranked 2nd in Africa and 24th in the world in the previous ranking, have now dropped 13 positions and became 37th in the world and 4th in Africa.
For other African teams who climbed up in the ranking, Algeria moved from the 27th to 26th position in the world, and from the 3rd to the 2nd position in Africa. Cape Verde also had an impressive jump, gaining 8 positions, moving from the 35th position in January to the 27th in the world, and the 3rd in Africa in February.
