APC Will Soon Crash, Split Into Factions, APC Rep Member Warns

An All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain, Ishaq Kana, has warned that the party could soon crash and split into factions if the practice of imposing party leaders at the grass roots does stop.

Kana, a member of the House of Representatives, who represents Keffi-Karu-Kokona constituency of Nasarawa State, told newsmen weekend that the imposition of party leaders mostly in the north- central states by some interim leaders of the party will soon create the crisis.
He accused the Interim North Central vice chairman of the APC, Ahmed Aboki, of engaging in actions that could destabilize the party.
According to him, the vice chairman is working with fifth columnists, who decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the APC to create confusion thereby giving the ruling party a chance to break the ranks of the opposition.
He also accused Mr. Aboki of taking critical decisions affecting the party by himself without consulting stakeholder.
The federal lawmaker also warned that unless urgent steps are taken to address the imposition of local party leaders, the APC would crash.
“Sometimes I will only hear certain decision on radio without my input or other stakeholders,” he said.
“I have complained severally to governor [Tanko] Almakura to call the vice chairman to order, but despite the intervention of the governor and his promise to make amends, he still repeats same mistakes”, Kana stressed.
Consequently, Kana called for the sack of Mr. Aboki as vice chairman, adding that several petitions have been written to the national secretariat of the party, which prompted him to address the media.
