5Men Arrested In £.5million American Express Cyber-Crime Probe
London - Five men have been arrested by UK police investigating organised
cyber-criminals who are believed to have compromised an American Express Black Centurian charge card account and spent over half a million
pounds on Rolex watches, wine, diamonds, designer luggage and dining.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police Service’s Central e-Crime
Unit (PCeU) searched six addresses in Lambeth, Harrow, Barnet, Enfield
and Brighton at 6.30am this morning.
Police recovered mobile phones, computers and financial documents from the properties.
Five
men, aged between 30 and 45 and from Barnet, Brighton, Enfield and
Lewisham, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud.
They are
currently in custody at a west London police station.
The arrests
relate to activity on an American Express card between December 2012
and March this year in London, Barcelona, Madrid and Marbella.-Source:-london24.com
