Ogun Police Will Pray While Fighting Crime Away

Ahead of the Christmas season, the Ogun State Police Command has turned to prayers in order to reinforce its crime fighting techniques.
On Thursday, the state Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye, ordered the Command's Chief Imam and Chaplain to offer prayers for a hitch-free season. He spoke at the November Mess gathering at the Police Officers' Mess, Government Reservation Area, GRA, Ibara, Abeokuta.
The Commissioner admonished his subordinates to work hard to prevent any ugly incidents at their respective posts. He also warned them against corrupt practices, unethical conducts and being uncivil to the public.
He ordered the officers to display their telephone numbers, other relevant phone numbers and distress call numbers at the main entrances, charge rooms, investigation rooms and strategic places at their formations for transparency and accountability. The Commissioner threatened to query any officer who failed to comply with his directives.
A guest speaker at the meeting, the Ogun state Director Code of Conduct Bureau, Oluwasegun Rabiu lectured officers on patriotism.
Those present at the security meeting included the management team ofthe Command, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Heads of Departments.
