He said the early completion of church services by the time was because of the existing 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew still in force in the state.
“The Headquarters of
23 Brigade wishes to bring to the notice of the general populace of Adamawa
State that the imposition of curfew from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily is still in
force.
“While we all know
the importance of night prayers, especially at the last day of the year, we
need to consider the best interest of the general public,” the statement said.
It pledged the
commitment of security agencies in the state to the safety of life and property
and urged the public to sustain its support and cooperation towards the goal.
The News Agency of
Nigeria, NAN, reports that the curfew has been on force in the state since the
declaration of state of emergency in May.
