Community College of Philadelphia is offering Visiting Lecturer Diversity Fellowship Opportunities for Criminal Justice, Foundational Math, or Business Leadership degree holders in 2019.

Community College of Philadelphia is an open-admission, associate-degree-granting institution which provides access to higher education for all who may benefit. Its programs of study in the liberal arts and sciences, career technologies, and basic academic skills provide a coherent foundation for college transfer, employment and lifelong learning. To help address broad economic, cultural and political concerns in the city and beyond, the College draws together students from a wide range of ages and backgrounds and seeks to provide the programs and support they need to achieve their goals.

The program’s primary objective is to increase diversity within academic departments at the College, consistent with the mission, goals, and core values of Community College of Philadelphia by providing experiential opportunities for prospective future faculty. The DFP for 2019-2020 will begin in Fall 2019 in three areas, Business Leadership, Criminal Justice and Foundational Mathematics.

They provide experienced adjuncts, new-to-the profession, and recent graduate students with long-term support to secure a position as a college professor, and eventually move into faculty leadership roles.

Eligibility

• Dedicated to developing a diversity, inclusion, or equity project under the supervision of the Coordinator of the Diversity Fellowship and in coordination with the department and the appropriate college division.
• Willing to learn, grow, and develop in a transformative career.
• For the Foundational Math position, qualified applicants must have a Master’s of Mathematics Education, or a Master’s in Education with 18 graduate credits in Mathematics from a regionally accredited institution, or a Master’s in Mathematics with a proven track record in education and experience in teaching foundational mathematics.
• For the Business Leadership position, qualified applicants must have a Master’s degree in organizational leadership, human resources, business communication or other disciplines taught in a business school setting (e.g. administration, marketing, management, accounting, finance, operations, hospitality), or a related degree with 18 graduate credit hours in the above areas. Candidates with a business-oriented master’s degree must have at least 3 years of leadership experience. Candidates with a leadership-oriented master’s degree must have at least 3 years of business experience. A minimum of 5 years work experience in business or leadership positions is required, including 2 years of post- master’s work experience. Leadership experience must include the strategic leadership of a business unit or organization at the level of manager or above.
• For the Criminal Justice position, qualified applicants must have a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice or closely related field. Preferred qualification: minimum of one year experience working in a Criminal Justice or law enforcement related agency.
